Daydreams.
Often in a quiet time I let my mind drift,
To places that I've never gone;
Dreaming dreams of great heroic deeds,
That I have never done.
I am a hopeless daydreaming romantic,
With a Walter Mitty imagination,
Creating stories that make me feel good,
To counter an often dull occupation.
Chasing rainbows for that pot 'o gold,
Or moonbeams way off in the by and by;
Hoping for stardust miracles;
Wishing for the elusive pie in the sky.
But when I come back down to earth,
I can often be quite pragmatic,
And I put my daydreams away for awhile,
But they're always near, like toys in the attic.

A five-minute break, to catch my breath,
(halfway up a mountain in the Arochar Alps, Scotland):
Ahead of me, I see a blue
Daydreams.

Eyes open wide
Eyes wide open and in my mind
treasures of a heartfelt love I find
The softness of your hands I feel
steady
Whenever it got tough on the outside
An always ajar door on the inside
Would invite her further in

Daydreams
Come in a million
To earn millions
But none of them
Open the gates
Of the rich
Mama wakes
Me up
From the veranda
Why don't
