Is there one, true religion that is better than all the others?

Is there one, true religion that is better than all the others?

The greater question should be: Is there one true religion? The title question would seem to imply that there are many "true" religions and asks which of these is best. In the broader definition of the word religion, (i.e., a particular system of faith and worship which one believes in strongly), they might each be said to be "true", depending on your personal beliefs. In that sense one might be better for you than the others. Each major religion puts forth the proposition that it is the only "true" one. However, they cannot all be right.

Just as there is only one true God (the God of Judeo-Christian theology) there can be only one true religion: that delivered and preached by Jesus Christ, the Son of God, more than two thousand years ago.

No other religion has been handed down directly from God (Yahweh) to His people, by God himself (Jesus Christ). All other religions are creations of men, who often have claimed to be messengers or prophets of God. While these religions might bring comfort to those who have been led to believe in them, they are none-the-less false and empty of eternal salvation.

None of the prophets of other religions made such bold and dangerous claims of heavenly authority as did Jesus. He plainly proclaimed Himself equal to God: "I and my Father are one." (John 10:30) For this He was ultimately crucified. Either Jesus was a megalomaniac or He is who he claims to be. Since He is who He claims to be, and has the power to save sinners from hell, how can anyone argue that Christianity (following Christ) is not the one true religion. Does it not then follow that Christianity is better than all the others?

The final proof of this is to be found in the scriptures of the Holy Bible. Deuteronomy 29:29 says: "The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law." In Hebrews 1:1,2 we find: "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, [2] Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;"

Anyone who will invest the time to read the words of God, the Holy Bible, will receive a great benefit in knowledge, truth, and wisdom, and come to the conclusion that Christianity is true. They might possibly even turn to Christ for eternal salvation.

All scripture is from the KJV.
