SILENT TEARS

Brittany is by far the most put-together person I know. She always has a ready smile for others. She knows the right thing to say to make you feel better. A friend like her is self-less and confident. She is the person you see as fresh, bright, happy, content..but inside she is drowning in silent tears.

She is a person who has lived a life-time already and she is still young in so many ways. To look at her you would never know the pain she has endured.

For you to understand, let me start at the beginning. She was born into a large family, the youngest of seven children. Her mother was nearly beyond child-bearing age when she unexpectedly gave birth to the tiny precious gift God made. They didn't know it at the time, she was a burden not ready to be dealt with. But God had other plans for her, she was named Brittany.

As she grew in a home too full for her, she loved with unselfish love, never receiving in return. She was the girl in school who felt the pain and loneliness of others, and became a friend to anyone who needed one. Never having a true friend of her own. But that was acceptable to Brittany as she never expected much.

As she aged and married, once again being self-less asking for nothing in return, she received nothing. The good that came from this marriage was two precious children that became her life. She once again gave self-lessly to raising them and nurturing them with the love with which she never received only longing for.

As the years passed on she knew that her life was not her own, she had a purpose that she was to fulfill. She realized her past was yet a plan for her life as well as her future. She was not here to receive but to give. As she sought to help others in need, she did not realize how much she had given up to meet the needs of others. Her home was a shell which was a roof over her head, and not much more than that. Her meals were meager so others would have. As Brittany helped to meet the needs of others, she was revitalized. Her smile was warm, gentle, full of compassion.

But no one knew how lonely she was..no one saw her silent tears!
