A Personal Review of Evony: Age 1 A new game has recently entered my life, and it's name is Evony. Anyone and everyone can join the game for free, simply by registering at Evony.com. I did so and quickly found myself dropped into the middle of a real-time fantasy world! In order to better fit into the world of Evony, one of the first things you are asked to do is assume a fitting name. I chose Lord Mojo of Server 112, and as Lord in this realm it is only right I should introduce you to...EVONY!
Once you have entered the realm of Evony, you are presented with an immediate long-term and short-term objectives. The overall tong-term objective is to develop 10+ cities/towns under your rule as Lord. This is achieved by exploring surrounding lands and, consequently, defeating whatever you find there. However, this can't be achieved without meeting your short-term objectives, making them much more pressing. Short-term objectives are centered around the idea of furthering the development of your first city.
To aid you, as a beginner, in this growth are a series of Quests laid out in such a manner as to teach new users how to successfully play the game. To further increase your chances of success, all new players are given a 7 day grace period called, "Beginner's Protection." During this time players are free to familiarize themselves with the inner workings of their new city, without threat of invasion from other players.
This quality is in itself unique, allowing new players a chance to develop strategy with the pros. As in most other multi-player online games, Evony requires a certain degree of strategy to achieve success. Strategies of course, vary. However I have found that due to the real time effect in the game, the best strategy is...patience. It is the one thing required in almost all approaches to the game. Say you want to build huge armies. Well, first you must build an Academy to study Military and Tradition.
What if you want to build giant farmlands and huge cottages so your people will love you. The resources needed will first need to accumulate. Gratefully, there are plenty of Quests available and the player will hardly have a moment in which they are not moving ahead in the game. Admittedly, this is one of the concepts simpler attractions. The ever growing state of the player's realm is not the only gem in Evony.
Below are a few interesting aspects of this new world. Once you reach a certain level in the early stages of the game, you find your desire
