Once a woman reaches the age of 35, it is much harder for her to keep off extra weight and keep herself in shape. Each pound seems to creep in and settle down when she leasts expects it. Here are some secrets of weight loss for women over 35 that will help you get rid of those extra pounds.
Change Your Diet
A change in diet at this age is necessary. Start off each morning with a glass of freshly juiced vegetable and fruit juice. This will get your metabolism working early in the day.
Eat less starch, white flour and sugar. Start using complex carbohydrates such as brown rice or small portions of legumes. Eat low fat protein daily.
In the morning make a tray of sliced fresh vegetables and fruit that you can snack on throughout the day when you get hungry or just want to nibble on something. Be sure to include berries in your tray as well.
Use Supplements
Take a good multi-vitamin every day. Since the liver is the fat burner of the body, you need to make sure it is functioning at its peak level. Use a liver tonic or take selenium and vitamin E.
Drink Water
Nearly everywhere you go, people tell you to make sure you drink 8 glasses of water a day. Most people find that nearly impossible. Let's make a more realistic, reachable goal. Shoot for 5 glasses of water a day. This will keep the kidneys functioning normally, and it will prevent them from getting lazy and dumping their job on the liver. When the liver has to do both jobs, it can't burn as much fat as it needs to.
Get Active
When you first get up in the morning, do some exercises for 10 minutes to get your body functioning right away. Get a pedometer and wear it. Make a goal to take 10,000 steps every day. Include a 30 minute daily walk in those 10,000 steps.
Set Realistic Goals
Instead of telling yourself you need to lose 130 pounds and becoming discouraged at the impossibility right at the start, set small attainable goals. Shoot for 10 pounds. Work faithfully at loosing that amount of weight. When you reach your goal, reward yourself one time. Set your next goal, and do the same thing.
Get the Right Mindset
Get yourself to the place where you are just sick and tired of being overweight, and you are ready to do whatever it takes to get your body in shape. Believe in yourself and determine to lose weight.
Control Your Eating
Serve your food on a small size plate. Take small bites, eat slowly and chew each bite a minimum of 10 times before you swallow it. Use baby utensils if you need help keeping your bites small.
Don't allow yourself to eat while watching television. Only eat sliced veggie or fruit snacks throughout the day. No more snacks allowed after 7:00 p.m.
There is nothing difficult about these secrets of weight loss for women over 35. It takes diligence and determination to keep yourself in shape. These things are so simple to put into practice that you will be amazed at the results you will begin to see right away.
