Have you ever played the telephone game
Where nothing you say is heard the same
And people hear what they want to hear
No matter if your words are clear
That's the trouble with gossipy news
Too many assumptions, too few clues
Passing on what we think is fact
Watching how our friends react
We love to pass on gilded tales
Of wanton women and callous males
Who was seen with whom and where
Did you know she dyes her hair?
The neighbors twitter about her house
And the incident with the helpless mouse
Every tongue is wagging now
Every eye has an arching brow
Gossip is the bane of life
Harmful to each man and wife
If you're never sure your story's true
Keep the gossip inside of you

Are you sure, it really happened that way?
I cannot believe I am hearing this, are
The rattle snake using
Your sharp tongue inflict
Deep cut on others
Firing your mouth missiles
Killing with spoken words
