Waiting for a face
that won't return to you
a faded laughing
s m i l i n g
(that was before he knocked me up
and left me here just LEFT me here)

But you magnified his beauty
you wrapped his likeness
in your tender gentle
f r a g i l e
(he knocked everything off the table
in a fit of rage a FIT of rage)
safekeeping
holding this man
she's never met
I see through your glass
that once showcased security
but is now jagged irregular
b r o k e n
(if he ever comes back knocking around here
