The universe was created some 14 billion years ago in an explosion known as the Big Band. Ever since this event of the manifestation of existence from absence, the universe has functioned through the interplay of two opposite forces. These forces are the force bestowal and the force of reception. The force of bestowal is the force of giving, love, and connection. The force of reception, the only created thing in the universe, is the force of self preservation, separation, and egoism. These forces operate on all levels of matter and are simultaneously never changing and ever changing.

What is this universe anyway?

In the beginning, the universe was masses of liquids and gasses and the force of reception was very small. This was called the still level of matter. As more complex units evolved so did the force of reception. After several billion years, our planet cooled and the still level of matter slowly evolved into the vegetative level. At the vegetative level of reception, the plant level, there is greater individuality. This level of reception is the first appearance of life in the universe. Later, the animate level of matter appeared. The animate level of matter has an even greater sense of individuality operating with an even greater force of reception. However, no organism can live on its own. Lastly, the speaking level of matter appeared. This is the human level and the level with the greatest sense of individuality.

Two forces: changing and not changing

The force of reception is the ever changing, ever increasing force behind all development and evolution. It is the one thing that was ever created by the force of bestowal which remains ever constant and unchanged. The evolution of the force of reception is the purpose of all life including human life. This force, created by the force of bestowal prior to the Big Bang, seeks to constantly fulfill itself, to constantly expand, to constantly grow. At the human level, we can see that the force of reception in us has brought us to an apex in development when we can no longer expand according to the rules of the force of reception. It has outweighed the force of bestowal apparent in nature to the degree that we are capable of destroying ourselves and destroying the entire system.

So what now?

This is where the unchanging force of bestowal comes into play through the conscious choice of the human mind. Here, at this point in our evolutionary development, the fully expanded force of reception must turn toward the eternal unchanging force of bestowal and ask to become equivalent to it.
