The Holidays are here! While you're busy shopping for everybody on your list, don't forget little kitty at home. Cats are our faithful friends, and offer us so much happiness and joy. Here are a few ideas of stocking stuffers for your little buddy.
1. Cat Toys
This may seem obvious, but there are so many varieties of toys on the market these days. There are balls, mice, catnip products, etc. If your cat has a high energy level, balls and mice may be a good option. If your cat is a little on a slower paced lifestyle, maybe try a suction-cup station with things he can bat at. If you're not sure what he may like, try one of each type and see what he likes the most.
2. Treats
Your kitty will love you if you offer him some yummy treats! There are many varieties these days. You may have to experiment to find out which flavor your cat likes the most. Remember that treats are a supplement to a normal diet. Check the fat content to make sure you're offering a healthy snack.
3. Collars
Your cat will surely enjoy a new collar in his stocking! Make sure you pick one that has a safety release, just in case his collar gets stuck on something, it will break, instead of choking him. You can also get one with a bell if you like to hear him come and go.
4. Cat Bed
Now, this may not exactly fit into a stocking, but your cat will love getting a bed! You can buy one, or make your own. To make one, all you need is a box, an old blanket, and some catnip. Rub some catnip into the box and place under the blanket. Your cat will soon make his bed all his own. He'll be sleeping in the bed every chance he gets!
5. Vet Visits
Now, this may not be the most fun, but it's necessary. If your cat needs boosters on his shots or needs to be spayed/neutered, now is a good time. Since you'll be home more around the holidays, you'll be around to help your cat recoup. Think of it as a gift of love.
You can change any of these ideas based on your cats personality. Just remember that your cat deserves a little pampering this time of year. He will surely thank you and love you for years to come!
