Your new office chair is rich, dark leather
almost the color of dried blood
It mirrors the cuts given daily
to a thousand former friends
The transformation is close to complete
once a best friend and brother
now a forest-green serpent
slithering on a milk white belly
A combustion of new Armani frames
and a dazzling three-piece suit
It makes you look more pimp
than the prostitute you are
The picture of our fishing trip
came down the day after your promotion
At least Judas gave Christ a final kiss
before taking his thirty pieces of silver
and finding a new savior
