Poetry: Has time slipped away?

by Melody Bish

Created on: December 05, 2009   Last Updated: December 06, 2009

They hold their candles but say they cannot see me;

They ask me for the truth - I tell - they don't believe me;

And everybody wants much more from me these days than I'm prepared to give

Don't want to step on toes - Can't you see I'm only trying to live

So, if you want me, I'll be in my room

If you want me

Baying at the autumn moon

You'll find me dancing in the sanctum of my auditorium
