Poetry: Gossip

by Tony Chuks Modungwo

Created on: December 05, 2009

The rattle snake using

Your sharp tongue inflict

Deep cut on others

Firing your mouth missiles

Killing with spoken words

Keep your tongue buzzing

Get wilder and wilder

Like cancer spreading

From limb to the rest

Of the body, tainting

And corrupting entire life.

Connotations of untruthfully

Hawking gossip for the

Decline of others in order

To uplift your miserable

Filthy life.

Envy is the fuel of gossip

Talking about others

What you'll not want to

Be heard about or spread

In the wind about you

Help you get along

With your life sweetened

With bitter leaf

Knowing your juicily malicious

Business you do it behind

Your victim.

Like bat knowing its ugliness

Chose to fly by night.

The slave who laughs while

His fellow slave is being

Buried alive forgets that

It'll be his turn one day.

The man who defecates on

The road forgets his deed

But man who packs it

Will not forget.
