Snow Angel

The snow has fallen and the girl has too,

Soft and bright and loved by few.

The breeze whispers from Heavenly singers,

And down comes the white from angelic fingers.

Moving arms and legs she makes a print,

The mark she leaves is an angle sent.

To the house the girl is called for the night,

And soon new snow hides the design from sight.

The youth does not return with the day,

Inside and on a bed she must stay.

Time does not let healing show,

So one dark night the hidden angle leaves the snow.

The parents never saw the hand that took their child,

But when the mother looked out she sadly smiled.

An angel print was left in the snow,

The lonely soul had once more let her hobby show.

There was a funeral where a girl once more lay in the snow,

She would be a snow angel forever more.

When a the prints fade away,

More children will make snow angels in their play.
