Beneath the branches, soil and roots,
I laid thee.
The sorrow I felt, my heart heavy with
every movement of the shovel.
It was raining that day I laid you to rest,
my tears blending with the rain drops.
Your life cut short, I know not why, I
laid you next to the others.
I tried to save you as I did the other
dogs to no avail, but I will continue
with the cause.
As I looked upon your face, you
appeared to be in slumber.
Sadly, a deep sleep from which you
will never awaken.
As I covered you gently, I uttered a
prayer, that you join the other angels
beneath this angel tree.
