There are a number of different websites where freelancers can earn money but more often than not the adds you see for these are in fact fake. If you really want to earn money as a freelancer you need to get yourself out there and there is no better way than to write articles and submit them to directories, join some writers forums and subscribe to some writers newsletters. You can also join the marketplaces and begin bidding on potential jobs. Another website that is also an option is constant content. This website allow you to post your articles and put in the price you are willing to accept if someone is to buy them. You can also subscribe to be notified when someone requests content. This website was excellent when it first started out but now there are so many writers here it can be quite difficult to sell your work unless you specialize in a particular field. I receive notification everytime someone requests articles but most of the time I don't respond as there are just too many writers writing these articles. Basically what you do when you receive a request for content (everyone gets these)you have to write an article and submit it for approval. Once it has been approved you can then contact the person who has requested content on this particular subject and let them know that you have an article available. What you need to know, is that your article may not be accepted as there could be hundreds of articles uploaded on the same subject.

For business owners and people lookign to purchase articles Constant Content is a great website. They can put in a request for articles and then receive a huge list of available material from which they can choose from. From the writers perspective, it can be a waste of time.

Joining writers forums is a great way to get the very latest information on writing and an excellent way to pick up some new ideas on how to earn more money and find new markets. The best thing about forums is that you can add your signature and this way you can put in your website address and attract potential clients. I also recommend joining some business owners forums as you can promote your writing services here too.

For me my greatest success has been in joining Elance. Most of my regular clients are from projects I won on Elance. I have also received a number of client via my profile on Elance too. Of course word of mouth really helps too and if you do a good job for someone they really will recommend you.

So there you have it. Get out there are join as many forums and marketplaces as you can and get your name known in the writing world.
