Unfair treatment in the workplace is a part of the job. Every job that I ever had I had to deal with unfair treatment.
The job that I have now - when the recruiter of the company that I work for offered me the position, she said as Team Lead you get first choice of demos. I had to take a certification test. First time I did not pass, second time I did. I e-mailed my supervisor telling her that I passed the certification test, she told me that she did not have any demos for me, she gave them to other people. I e-mailed my recruiter and told her about it. She e-mailed my supervisor and got on her about the unfairness. My supervisor e-mailed me and said "she put me down as the Team Lead and she also sent the e-mail to my recruiter. Well my supervisor did it again. There was only one demo for next weekend and she had given it to me, but then she took it off of my schedule and gave it to the demonstrator.
Another job that I had was a waitress at a club - there was another waitress who walked off the job, well they gave her another chance and hired her again. I was never late for work, I worked the floor by myself when it was full of people, I also worked the floor by myself when another waitress didn't show up for work because it was the weekend. One time the manager of the club made out the schedule, he cut my hours and gave the waitress who walked off the job more hours. Well I complained about it to the trustees of the club. They told the manager that wasn't fair and I got my hours back. Again stick up for yourself, I never walked off the job. Well, the waitress who walked off the job and was hired again, she walked off the job again because her ex-boyfriend was in the club with another woman and she could not handle it. She tried to get her job back , but this time when she walked off the job two big-shots from the club were in the club at that time and they said "NO WAY". The truth always comes out!
I have learned that managers don't appreciate dependable hard workers, they appreciate employees who kiss up to them.
In this economy, just be happy you have a job.
