Oh, the old Christmas tradition of the office Secret Santa gift exchange. This tradition has the possibility to go very well, or be a great disappointment. Most of the time, office gift exchanges have low price limits so you need to be creative to come up with a great gift. Make the wrong choice, and you could leave someone disappointed. Make the right choice, and people will be wishing you had their name. This article will give you some ideas for some great gifts, and the rest is up to you.

The first thing that you should look at when you are deciding on a gift is the person that you are buying for. What are their hobbies, what interests them, and what do they enjoy? Once you know what they like, you need to try to get creative. eBay is a good option. See if you can find something on eBay that they may not have ever seen before. Finding a rare item for a good price could just prove your gift to be the best in the office. If nothing rare is available, try to find something that is required for their hobby or interest. For example, if they like tennis, a great gift would be mono-graphed tennis balls. If you can't get that, try to find some nice fancy ones.

If you do not know the person that you are buying for very well, you should consider the fact that there are certain things that always make a good present in the office regardless of who they are given to. Nobody ever hates gift certificates or lottery tickets. Items like this have a cash value, so you can rarely go wrong with this. Good options might be a coffee mug with free refills, or maybe a gift certificate for a restaurant that is near your work.

Always remember that there are certain gifts that are just not appropriate for the office. Try to avoid alcohol, sex related, and casino gambling (aside from the scratch tickets). These are not appropriate because there are some people that can be addicted to such things. Even worse, there could be those that are recovering from such additions. The last thing that you would want to do would be to offend someone in this situation, or make their situation worse.

In closing, it may take a little creativity and effort, but you can give a great gift for a cheap price in the office Secret Santa exchange. Avoid offensive and problematic gifts, and try to get gifts that you know everyone could enjoy. The key is to have fun and enjoy the Christmas party for what it is, a time to relax and enjoy the company of others. The last thing you want to do is stress yourself out over something that is supposed to be fun. Happy Holidays!
