I believe making a New Year's Resolution is a good way to bring in the New Year. Mostly everyone wants to accomplish something or a few things by the end of 2010. Some people make a list because they have a few things they want to do or they may only have one thing to do.
I think it's a good way to set goals for yourself even if you don't finish them all. If you are like me who writes a list of things, you probably would cross the ones off that you finished. Then you will only have the ones left on the list. There will be times when you don't finish a goal by the end of the year, you could always start with that one for next year's New Year's Resolution or if you feel it is something too hard to accomplish put it on the back burner for in the future.
A lot of people take New Year's resolutions so seriously that if they don't finish everything on their list they are a failure. I don't see that what I do see is more goals for next time. Most of the time if you have a list say 10 or even hundred that maybe too high of a goal to finish. All you have to do is try to finish your goals.
I believe Helium Writers may have different New Year's Resolutions than people who don't write on Helium or any other site. They could be many different things such as:
You wish to have a certain amount of articles published on Helium by the next year.
Or it could also be trying to receive five rating or writing stars or even both by the end of the year.
You may also want to be published in the Market Place that they have on Helium.
It even could be that you would love to win one of the many contests Helium offers.
You could even have a New Year's Resolution to have a book published, which it doesn't have anything to do with Helium at all.
It could also be something you want to accomplish that has nothing to do with writing or Helium at all. Like, you may want to travel, get a new haircut etc.
Every year I make a New Year's Resolution sometimes I have a few things I would like to accomplish and other times it's only one thing. I feel it is wise to have a New Year's resolution to bring a challenge to your life. Also it will keep things interesting for a new change in the New Year.
