Runescape, like many other MMORPGs, is a game where many people devote time and energy on, be it to attain skill levels which would be shown on the ranking list, or to be able to buy armor which allow them to flaunt their wealth. However, many of the players are unable to earn money or GP (currency of the game) as effectively as another player with similar skill levels and standings.

Many players search all around the internet looking for a good guide which would allow them to earn money quickly and effortlessly, but to tell you the truth, there is no way to earn money effortlessly. When you first start out in Runescape, it would be hard to earn your first 100k gp. There are also many ways for you to earn that 100k. Be it mining, smithing, woodcutting or even killing cows. There is no absolute way for you to earn money quickest. It solely depends on your devotion and how much time you are willing to spend in the game.

For starters, I would recommend killing some chickens till your combat level is about 20. Collect feathers along with killing and selling them at GE (Grand Exchange) would be a good way to start earning your first 100k. When you reach level 20, get some armor from GE (not from shops because it is normally cheaper at GE). Then go kill cows at Lumbridge, near where an npc called beefy bill is. Bill is your way to fast and quick cash because he helps you bank your cowhides and beef at the interest rate of 10% i.e. you will have to give him 1 cowhide for every 10 cowhides you bank through him. This would be a quick way to earn your first 100k.

Another way would be mining. Start off by mining copper and tin at 1:1 ratio and BANK them all. Don't be lazy and just drop them because you would need your smithing level high enough to smelt steel bars. After you reach smithing level 30, you should have enough money to buy coal and iron ores from GE. (If not, you can use the first method to earn your money). Buy them in the ratio of 2 coal to 1 iron ore. Then go to Al-Kharid (nearest furnace to a bank) and smelt them all. Sell off all your steel bars in GE and you would start seeing profits coming in.

After gaining enough money, you can use money to earn more money through merchanting at GE. You can buy equipments that are widely sought-after by players at prices lower than normal at GE and sell them off at near maximum prices. This should help you gain more and more money.

In conclusion, there is no easy way to earn money in Runescape. However, don't just work hard, WORK SMART!
