Poetry: Who could know?

by Elisha Rosencrans

Created on: December 03, 2009

Looking back now, it's really hard to believe.

It took me so long to grieve,

But, who could know that I'd survive,

And I'd be much more than simply alive.

I thought my life was gone,

But, the better days were just breaking dawn.

Who could know, that I'd be here today,

Feeling glad that I felt that way.

If you'd never have hurt me,

And never made me cry,

I wouldn't be who I was meant to be.

I would still be wondering why.

Today I'm in a happy place,

A smile never leaves my face.

Who could have known, who would've guessed?

You breaking my heart has made me so blessed.
