Poetry: Has time slipped away?
The days have passed so quickly, where has the summer gone?
Cool winds blowing my hair gently, the sun setting before it has begun.
My mind travels with the dancer, an eye on the level within,
drawing my senses together, on that road less traveled again.
In myself I see the perceptions, like a mirror they reflect my soul.
Eyes constantly watching, to see if the dancer will roll.
The lights carry my fences, darkness beats with its' roar,
drills of fancy partitions, hold a candle and knock on my door.
"Will you dance again with us Gracie? Your hair running wild with the wind?"
"Or has your perception changed you so gently, that you think you ought not to begin?"
"Remember those days with us Gracie? We'd hold candles and watch your eyes gleam?"
"As you pranced around like a fairy, no care or worry it seemed."
"Yes", I replied so sweetly, as I cherished the dreams within.
"I ought not though", said I still in dreamy,
"For I fear that this dance will not glow."
But their faces changed not with my saying, their candles so bright to my night.
"They believe", said I in exhaustion. "They believe as though that I might."
So I said, "tomorrow I'll be there, in the pasture that holds the suns light."
"I'll work on it through this still darkness, that wants to take flight with my fright."
Nodding their heads in agreement, the charges took off with their glows.
My lights soon turning to darkness, yet hope inside of me grow.
Till dawns light I challenged my body, through the darkness I held my head high.
In the pivots and turns I remembered, that Gracie with the gleam in her eye.
Come morning I was that old Gracie, the Gracie I thought that had died.
And the dance, oh how it's so lovely, as the summers just keep diving by.

The days have passed so quickly, where has the summer gone?
Cool winds blowing my hair gently,
Time
reflects in the carving of a deep canyon
by a river.
Time
reflects in the blooming and fruiting
and endless overgrowth
that
While toil lends time,
Joy steals it, whipping it around corners
Like a wind over a landscape,
Speeding through life's moments.
One hundred five and still alive
Alert clear headed how she thrives
One wonders how she spends her days
While all that
The Time that Goes By
Ticking,
rhythmically,
the seconds pass,
turning into minutes,
then hours.
Days become weeks,
folding
