So let me set the scene for you, picture a darkened road, it is raining, not hard just enough to be annoying. You have had an intense day at school or work and you are very tired. You just want to go home and relax, maybe in front of the television. You have just picked up your children and they both want your attention.
Now that we know the state of mind, let me tell you the rest of this ironic story that was a true event. So, I had picked up my children, after having been at school all day, and having not seen them for a week. Can you say they both wanted to tell Mommy about their day? It was a little hectic in my car, but I knew how to handle it, so I played their favorite music and we started to sing. Yes, that's right we were rocking out to the Wiggles, and suddenly my day did not seem so tiresome.
We were having a great time and tooling along on our way home. It is not a terribly long trip home, but it's on a two lane black top that is a little curvy. We are going along enjoying each other, when I notice the car behind me is right on my bumper. Now, let me say, I am not a slow driver, however I do not speed either, so I was going about five miles over the speed limit. The driver of the other car was inching ever closer to my bumper, thinking I would speed up. Everyone knows this does not work, but we will let the other driver have his delusion.
As, we passed by a subdivision, a police car pulled out behind us, you know just doing his route. I am not speeding, so I am not worried about it, because inside our car we are still rocking out, to Disney now. I notice the car behind me is still riding pretty close, but now he has turned on his high beams. Whatever, just adjust the rearview mirror and go on. I guess this upset the man because he started flashing his lights and honking his horn. Now bare in mind there is still the policeman behind us, and there have been several places where this man could have passed my car.
Anyway, I decided just to ignore the driver, because he could have passed if he really wanted to, but choose not to take that option. I reached my turn and moved into the turn lane, and as the driver passed me, he has leaned out his window and began yelling about how wonderful I am and saluted me. I just waved and thought, wonder what the policeman thinks about this, because it is illegal to salute someone as this man did. Well, about that time the blue lights came on and my friend got pulled over. Just think the man who was in such a hurry has now delayed himself even more. As you know, what comes around goes around. We may not always get to see it, but sometimes, as in this case, we do.
