Recent studies are pointing to more and more evidence of diseases being caused by radiation from your cell phone. Although cell phone manufacturers continue to claim there is no danger, one can never be to safe. Here a few ways to minimize your exposure to potentially harmful radiation.
Turn off your device when your not using it
This may sound like common sense, but many people often forget this tip. There are numerous times when we aren't actually using our cell phones, so just switch it off to avoid the radiation. This will also save the battery life of the device and lengthen its overall lifespan, as well as yours, potentially.
Use a headset
Many studies examine the effects of cell phone radiation on the brain. This is because the cell phone emits the most radiation during calls. To keep you and your brain safe, use a headset when talking on your phone. A wired headset is likely the safest, but bluetooth versions are probably safer than not using a headset.
Spotty coverage? Turn it off
Many of us roam into remote areas from time to time. It turns out that cell phones putt off the most radiation when they are clinging to a weak signal. If you find you have weak reception and drop calls in a certain area, go ahead and switch your cell phone off. It will sae you some frustration now and perhaps in the long run with your health.
Get some breathing room
If you are just sitting at home or in the office and you know you will be there for a while, this tip is for you. Take the cell phone out of your pocket or off your belt clip if your in one place for extended periods of time. I usually set my device across the room or on the other side of my desk. The increased distance between you and the phone will cut radiation exposure down thousand-fold. This keeps one safer from radiation, but still keeps the cell phone accessible.
As many of you smartphone users might know, more powerful cell phones take a long time to turn on and off. I also use my smartphone as an alarm clock at night, so I cannot turn it off then. This is 8+ hours a day of my cell phone lying next to me emitting radiation. However, I have found a trick that allows me to leave it on and reduce radiation exposure. I simply put it in "Airplane" mode. This turns off the cellular radio in it and prevents the cell phone from emitting any radiation.
Simply follow these tips and you might find yourself a lot healthier in a few years. Although the evidence isn't concrete for the dangers of cell phone radiation, it is growing in numbers.
