Poetry: Longing for your love

by James Dubreze

It has been long since you've gone from my life, and yet our feelings for each other never changed,

You reminded me of happy days when you glanced at me with your tender smile of love,

To me you looked flawless; your beauty is as penetrating as the cloudy sun rays.

It spreads out from within to shine the darkness of all hearts.

It has been long since you've gone from my life, and yet our feelings for each other never changed.

I've thought and dreamt about you along the way, but not once did I think you would come back in my life this way.

We are grown now; we speak on world affairs while contemplating on how to transform our affairs.

We want more from each other for sure, our emotions are our measure, it whistles to alert us of our composure.

It's a moment of reminiscing, where we think of how it could have been had we been more conscious of our emotions.

It has been long since you've gone from my life, and yet our feelings for each other never changed.

You have a daughter like mine, at the age of nine who resembles mine.

She looks beautiful like you, and I can't wait to have her meet Jolie.

It will be a family moment, where we break bread under our tent, to enjoy the time of our improvements.

It will be a moment of recollection, where we contemplate on our actions that led our separation.

It has been long since you've gone from my life, and yet our feelings for each other never changed.

You have gone from my life to gain experienced from other lives; your life seems now like a paradox, you have matured to the contrary, a person I've once known as a speechless heart is now the advocacy of all emotions.

Life is like a revolving door, and we are revolving with it, somewhere in this motion you've caught up with me. But only this time with a maturity that is so vividly attained that only struggle can define it.

It has been long since you've gone from my life, and yet our feelings for each other never changed.

I am the cork of your bottle, when I'm in, I keep it air tight. It doesn't matter who you've been with, and what you've done, no cork seal your bottle like mine.

We drank Champaign and made love in the bath tub with herbs to experienced love through spiritual forms. It is true, you are my soul mate, a day later would have made you a perfect match, but this is close enough for no relationship is ever perfect.

The moon is forever shining, the time is midnight and the ocean is waving,

It's a beautiful night at a tropical island, and our ancestors are singing, le rendez - vous pour la prochene fois.
