Tips for online comparison shopping

The web is a great tool for shopping. Comparing products, and prices have never been easier. In the past few months I was able to find the most amazing furniture, and house renovation products, for a fraction of the regular price. Lets face it, we don't have the time and energy to drive store to store looking for a bargain on an item we desire. Most large stores now recognize the importance of the internet and provide pictures, descriptions, and prices to most products they carry in the store, and more. If you are confident enough of the quality, size and style of the product, you could do all of your shopping online without having to move off of your chair.

Whether you're looking for a large item, like a piece of furniture, or a small gift for a special occasion; take advantage of your local area flyers on the web. They are absolutely worth a look. The weekly paper flyers delivered to your house may, or may not contain most of the stores in your city. The web on the other hand, will provide you with the flyers from your area, and neighboring towns and cities that are close by. Just type flyers and the name of the city in the search engine, this will provide you with the weekly sale items. Or you could go to these sites, www.onlyflyer.com or www.flyerland.ca, which provides most if not all of the large or chain stores in most cities. Sometimes their advertised sale may not even be a sale, but every now and then, you could find a gem for the fraction of the price.

For the people like me who need to physically see, and feel the product before the purchase; I recommend the web flyer approach. Also check out the stores online, they may have specials specifically for the web shoppers which are not available in stores. Most people can tell when a sale is a good one, or the store is trying to take most of us for a fool. If you shop around for the same product, and compare prices, I can almost guarantee a discrepancy in price. How many times did you buy a product, only to find out it was on sale for a lot less somewhere else? I fell in this trap many times myself. Several of you might say why don't you return it, and get it somewhere else? Too late, by that time it's likely already been used.

When you find an item that peaks your interest, it is now worth paying a visit to the local store. Sometimes it's a great buy, but others look better in a picture. While you're in the store look around first for a similar product, if you still like the item chosen earlier, go for it. If you're not sure, leave the store and think about it some more.

For those of us who are hard core web shoppers, keep in mind the risk of buying on line, not to mention the addition of a delivery charge that you might end up paying on top of the item's price. Each item could cost you a separate shipping fee. So if you combine the two prices together, would it really be worth the money you are paying in comparison to purchasing it from a local store? Also take into consideration the shipping return expenses if the item was not up to your satisfaction. Don't forget to read the web sight's return policy, you might end up being stuck with that item either you like it or not.
