We should be respectful of all people, whether they are a celebrity or not. Tiger Woods is a golf professional and is considered a celebrity since nearly all of America knows his name. However, that does not give us permission to invade his personal life. I expect people to respect my privacy and expect others to do the same. Yes, Tiger Woods was in a car accident. No, it is not our business. Nobody was killed in the accident, that is the important thing. If Tiger Woods wanted to tell the world every detail of the accident and what led up to it, then he would have already done so. Perhaps he doesn't know what happened. Maybe he will offer an explanation after he recuperates. Why must we bother him for details when he should be recovering? There could be many explanations, but why does it matter? What will happen if he never gives a reason? Will time stop? Will the quality of our life decline? Will we die from lack of information?

What people need to remember is that celebrities are just regular people like us who happen to have a high-profile career. They are not super-human or are any more important than you or me. If you're neighbor was involved in a car accident, would you spend all of your energy demanding an explanation? Of course not. A sane person would wish them a speedy recovery and then go back to minding their own business, which is what we should do regarding Tiger Woods.

Of course, America can't seem to grasp the concept of minding their own business. We must know why it happened, how it happened, what day and time it happened, and of course, we need to speculate whether he had an affair or not. This is not limited to Tiger Woods. This is the case for every celebrity from affair allegations to what they ate for lunch. Are our lives so boring that we get high from knowing every intimate detail of their lives? I can't speak for everyone else, but my life is quite full and I simply do not have the time or interest to spend snooping in other people's lives.

As a society, we have an unhealthy obsession with poking our noses into everyone's business. Perhaps if we focused more on our own conduct instead of judging what celebrities are or are not doing, then we wouldn't have such a need for so many therapists!
