A public figure, especially a successful one, must expect to have his privacy challenged at every turn, at every opportunity. The reason is simply because people aspire to be famous or wealthy and they, to some extent, live wishful lives by idolizing he who has achieved something they have not.
Also, there is a significant amount of money transacted and notoriety achieved when dirt can be uncovered on a celebrity. And everyone knows celebrities, just like regular people, make stupid mistakes.
But make no mistake, a celebrity owes no-one anything and they are entitled to their privacy. They will never get their privacy, but they are certainly entitled to it.
People also need to understand that the more wealth or perception of power that a person achieves the more opportunities for, lets call it, societal moral challenges to present themselves. I have witnessed it first hand on a couple of different occasions.
I imagine it would be very difficult, difficulty measured in stages of maturity, for a celebrity to resist temptation indefinitely when there is absolutely no doubt that temptation is presented at every turn. For every woman that has a solid moral standard there are multiple women that don't care. For every seasoned male celebrity that has a high moral standard, well, I don't know quite how to put it other than 98% will probably fail to resist temptation at some point.
One must understand that males are very visual creatures and easily respond to visual stimuli. This doesn't make a societal moral failure right, it makes it inevitable. By the way, I call it societal moral failure because other than natural ethics or innate sense of right versus wrong, society and religion dictates what is morally acceptable. We are taught to behave in certain ways.

I feel bad for Tiger Woods because the judges, pro and con, now come out of the wood work ala Bill Clinton who probably received the most famous cigar licking of all time.
People, please mind your own business.
The fiery pro whatevers will attack the man with epiphanies like he is supposed to be a role model. Give it a rest: so are the athletes on steroids; so are the drunken rock stars. All humans and loaded with human imperfections. We have the strangest role models.
