Guide to submitting a Helium article

Here are the Cliff Notes on submitting a Helium article.

First, you have to sign up for an account. Be sure you are also signed up with PayPal before you begin.

Second, find a subject you want to write on. This could be on the homepage or you could find one in the many channels available. Some things to consider as you weigh your writing options are: What do you know about? What do you feel strongly about? Do you know how to spell? Is your English Grammar good enough that your writing would not be opaque?

Third, if you plan on writing on a subject you know little about, do some research first.

Fourth, when you find a topic to write about, go for it. Remember this is not a blog. It is a monstrous forum of day-to-day knowledge and opinions on multitudinous subjects. Don't follow informal Internet etiquette. Don't write stream-of-thought articles. Plan your article and give it a structure.

You can be funny, you can be brief. But one sentence is not an article. What is the point of writing one sentence? Also be careful not to plagiarize and not to prove to everyone reading your article that you are an idiot.
