Movie Review: Freddie Vs. Jason
I am a huge fan of scary movies. It is so much fun to curl up on the couch with some friends, popcorn, candy, and cokes in a completely dark room to turn on something scary. That is what I expected to do when we rented the movie Freddie Vs. Jason. I have to say, I was completely disappointed. We did not know who to cheer on: Freddie or Jason!
Freddie Vs. Jason, staring of course Freddie Krueger from the movies The Nightmare on Elm Street and Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th movies. These are two of the most popular and memorable slasher stars of all times! Seeing them battle each other is every horror movie lover's dream! This movie was first introduced to the world in 2003. This time the two are terrorizing the town and each other! There were some awesome action scenes as the two try to fight till the end.
Freddy Krueger had been killed and is resting in Hell. He was unable to rise this many years, because the children of the town had been drugged to forget about him. He uses Jason to scare the children into thinking he has returned, so that he really can return. Are you starting to see why this movie was a disappointment?! Freddy returns from Hell to find that Jason is murdering the children on Elm Street, which makes Freddy mad. After all, those are his children to kill! I am not going to tell all of the details of the movie to ruin the excitement and surprises of anyone who has not seen this movie yet. Although the fight scenes were pretty cool, the entire movie was so fake and unrealistic. I was so ready for the movie to be over. I kept thinking, Yeah, like that could really happen. I could not believe I did not absolutely love this movie. I love all of the scary movies! This movie just got boring watching their fight scenes over and over.
Slashing, scaring, torturing, frightening, and murdering: those words describe the work of both Freddie Krueger and Jason Voorhees. They have a job they love, and are good at it! Now they are battling each other in the horror film Freddie Vs. Jason. If you are a fan of the Nightmares on Elm Street or Friday the 13th, you may want to watch this movie. Just be warned, it is a little too over the top.
