While toil lends time,
Joy steals it, whipping it around corners
Like a wind over a landscape,
Speeding through life's moments.
When engrossed we sip wine
In fluted glasses,
Turning to find the bottle empty
Before we have had our fill.
We discover time has slipped past us,
Despite promising forever in excited whispers,
As we dance in its embrace,
Time plans its escape.

Alert clear headed how she thrives
One wonders how she spends her days
While all that

Ticking,
rhythmically,
the seconds pass,
turning into minutes,
then hours.
Days become weeks,
