How to write a good product review

Writing a good product review is not a complicated task to do. Ask yourself this, "What would I want to know as a consumer?" If you were buying a product what would you, the consumer, want to know before spending your money? Here are some helpful pointers to help when writing your next review.

Be patient.

As soon as you try out a product you may want to hurry and write a review saying how much you love or hate this new item, try to wait. A week or month from now you may be regretting or loving that purchase. Of course you don't need to wait too long but try and wait at least a week, unless it's a movie or food review, something you don't need to try more than once. Personally I would wait at least a month for electronics.

Do research.

Research as much as you can about a product. Check out a few retailers to see where the product is sold. Find out what the product sells for and if it comes in variations like colors, flavors, scents, etc. Know the ins and outs of the product before writing.

Writing.

When you are writing a review include as much detail as you can. The more the consumer knows the better. Mention how long you have owned the product, your personal experiences, where it is sold, the price and if it comes in a variety. Also, don't forget to mention what a product looks like. If you can, add a picture or two, a picture is worth 1,000 words!

Be honest.

Include all the pros and cons. Don't be shy; people want to know your honest opinion. If you find something that bothers you about the product be sure to include it. Some things people may want to know beforehand is about the quality of a product, how easy it is to use, if it is all natural, if it is durable, if it is safe around children, is it easy to clean, and the list can go on and on depending what you are writing a review for.

Writing reviews can be fun and helpful. Just remember to stick to one question when writing your review, "What would I want to know about this product?" With that, you can't go wrong. Hopefully this will help you next time you are writing a product review.
