Elegant Beef Stroganoff
Read entire recipe so you know all that you will need before hand
1 to 2 lbs or more lean beef cut into small cubes
Merlot wine to cover the meat you can use other kinds of wine but Merlot seems to be the best
Gently simmer this to start next add
1 onion diced
2 cloves of garlic smashed or some garlic powder a good dash or if I have it I use about two tbsp of teriyaki garlic sauce it doesn't seem to matter as long as you have some good garlic base
1 whole package of either button mushrooms or portabella sliced
I add a dash of Worcestershire or two
package of dry onion soup mix
1tsp of Guldens mustard
A can or two of cream of mushroom soup this to me depends on how creamy you want it
A little basil (pinch ) is good or if you have fresh a couple leaves of washed and broken up

Simmer all ingredients together until the meat is tender, onions and mushrooms are done .
Then as finishing touch ,add one tub of sour cream .I buy the larger tub and add all of it if I've made a lot or for not so much.
Heat it through and stir then serve it over noodles or rice.
I serve it along side a vegetable like broccoli or greens .
