College life is great. I've been there and experienced it. Attending a four year institution is an awesome experience, but it can be pricey. If your not careful, finances can be a stress and a negative focus that can ruin the college experience. College is a wonderful new experience, and it is an amazing time of meeting many people, rubbing shoulders in memorable events geared, and studying intriguing topics. College life can be an eye opening experience when it comes to saving money. While remembering that the course of study will significantly improve life's overall income, the smart college student learns that saving dollars now will be beneficial after graduation. Saving will certainly make one feel good and will make one that much further ahead. So how can a person save a few bucks? Check out the following paragraphs and then adapt them into your college life and schedule.
Saving when it comes to vehicles?
When it comes right down to it, cars cost a lot of money. Owning a vehicle involves monthly payments, insurance, and maintenance costs. Consider the money saved if there were no car while living on campus. You really don't have to have it. Consider public transit, car pooling, or relying on family members and friends to get you to and from college.
Saving when it comes to your hunger?
College students love eating out. Restaurants are usually within walking distance. Knowing the price of the meals at college gives you an excuse to enjoy cheaper restaurant meals. Be careful, because some restaurant meals have price tags too. Use the dollar menu. Also consider eating healthy. Consider using the cheapest college meal plan. Most plans cost over $6.00 per meal, and most college student's schedules can be so busy that it's easier to pull the healty snack out of the back pack and rest at a lounge near the next class as apposed to racing across campus to the dining hall. If a grocery store is nearby, take advantage of it by purchasing those healthy snacks. In the evenings when hunger pangs strike, keep the popcorn handy. Most college dorms have microwaves.
Saving when taking study breaks?
All work and no play makes a very dull college experience, but watch out on the expensive entertainments. Rent movies instead
