Diablo 2 was released in 2001, the expansion pack Lord Of Destruction. I find that when Blizzard entertainment release games it changes the gaming industry dramatically. With the Expansion pack there is so many new things that do come available. Here is the list of changes that comes with the expansion pack.
1) Mini Map-better then the traditional map I find.
3) Stash-The stash is twice as big-which comes in handy for runes, gem etc.
4) Weapon Swapping.- This is great in the event if your in a hardcore battle and your weapon needs repaired, you can switch your weapons with pushing one single key.
5) Hot Keys- Blizzard has gave more hot keys to save on time. I use them a lot for spells and certain attacks.
6) More items-Blizzard has come up with thousands or more of new items that can be found in the expansion versus the non expansion. Also there are numerous prefixes and suffixes available.
7) Crafted Items-You can make crafted items using the very useful Horadic Cube. You can change 3 rings to an amulet or vice versa. Use rune recipes and gems. Very useful throughout the game.
8) Elite Items-Blizzard has come up with some new wicked elite items that only can be found in the hell difficulty. Some of them are pretty sweet.
9) Ethereal Items-This is a good type of weapon for extreme performance but they cannot be repaired. Here is a tip for you who did not know, use a rune called zod on ethereal items and then you will never have to worry about the weapon disaggregating.
10) More sets available- Blizzard has introduced 16 new sets of items that makes trading a little bit more fun and interesting.
11)Specific Items-Blizzard has come up with this idea as having the characters to have their own weapons instead of using weapons that only a sorcerer could use and get the really potential out of it. Great idea and so many weapons to choose from.
12) Socketed Items- Great invention with the weapons. So many things that you can make to become a potential tough warrior to defeat diablo and his brothers.
13) Gems-Blizzard has introduced two new classes of gems for the expansion pack. That would be Jewels and runes. I counted and there are 33 runes which make your items stronger but in the event you add them in a certain order you would get a even stronger weapon that could belong to a certain class. You can find recipes on Battle net or some in the official Strategy guide, but they're not that good.
14) Hirelings-It is great that you can arm your hireling with armor, a shield if applicable and even a helm. This option is great especially when you find really good items but not as good as yours. Invest them on your hireling or trade/sell them. Another cool thing with the hirelings is you can heal them and they level with you. They also will travel with you through each individual act or you get tired of them and hire a new one. The best hireling by far would have to be the ones located in act2 or even the Barbadians. There is so many great things about the expansion versus the non expansion. What I listed above is only minor modifications to the game. This would be a good investment for someone who likes to play games and will really never get bored, because the games always change when you log in. There is never the same game. Hope this helps you all Diablo fanatics like me.
