Regardless of the amount of time you will be on holidays or even a business trip there are ways to pack that will lighten your load as you travel. If your plans include six weeks to six months there are ways of packing that will be less stress and strain on you. You would be amazed at what you can make do with instead of packing your whole wardrobe. Here are some tips for packing light.

Start packing early

This is not difficult for anyone that's taking a trip it will add to the excitement but it will also give you lots of time to think about those things you have packed that you don't really need. Give yourself time to go through your luggage and ask yourself if the items you've packed are truly necessary or could they be left behind. Airports are not so generous with baggage allowances these days and you don't want to start your trip by paying for overweight luggage.

Amount of baggage

Try to keep your baggage down to one suitcase to check in, a back pack even if you leave it empty (it is good for day trips at your destination) and one carry on. A carry on that is expandable works best it can help with your shopping when you arrive.

Clothes to take

With so many colors on the market it is easy to mix and match clothing. Take a few changes that can be worn with one another when you get where you're going. Choose one neutral color and coordinate the rest of your clothes around it. Take sets of three's such as three tops three pants and three skirts or shirts. You really can manage for a very long time with just this amount of clothing. This will cut back on extra clothing that you probably wouldn't need anyway. You may have to rinse out some items while you're away but this will depend on how long you're staying. Synthetic fabric works wonderful for this type of travel.

Tips for other necessities

Take three pair of shoes one for dress affairs, one for hiking and a pair of comfortable shoes for sightseeing. Make sure your underwear and socks are light weight and easy to dry. Leave all the guides you have been studying at home you won't need them and usually wherever you travel you will find guides for sightseeing. Any toiletries you may need you can purchase when you get there you'd be amazed at how light your luggage can be without these items.

Packing clothes

People usually place their clothing in a suitcase neatly folded and when you arrive you are surprised to see how wrinkled your clothes is. Folding clothes is perhaps one way to guarantee wrinkles. This
