If you're reading this you're probably well aware of the online money making "gold rush" that's going on right now. It seems that as the "real world" economy goes down the pan more and more of us are turning to web for some extra income, or even an alternative to full time work. Lets face it, people are in their 9-5 jobs because they feel safe. People think that being part of a corporation and getting a wage slip every month will keep them happy. But the reality is completely different.
At the end of the day if you're part of a large company, you're more than likely just another badge with a face on it. If business hits the fan then you'll most likely be the first to go, and the execs will be the ones getting the big payouts and the golden parachutes. A steady paycheck makes you feel like you're in control but the truth is you're not.
So, let's change the game. If you're working in a 9-5 you're there nearly all day. That job probably counts for 100% of your income. So if you get fired, you lose everything. But say you work at home and have a business (not a huge business) that earns you multiple cash flows. If one of those goes sour, you've still got the others to keep you alive. YOU HAVE CONTROL. You choose your working hours, you expand your own horizons.
It's easy to just sit here and say "go and start your own business" but that is what you need to do. But don't worry, I know most people reading this are probably already empoloyed and don't have much time on their hands. But if you're reading this you've already taken your first step. Think about the potential pay rise you might get from your 9-5 job.... 3-5%.... work for yourself and there are no limits, no celings. The harder you work, the more you make.
Because of the internet, starting your own business has never been cheaper or easier. It will take time and you won't earn straight away but eventually you will. And if you are determined it will allow you to take control of your life. At my website I take you through every step of creating your own online business. There's no need to feel afraid of doing this, it's fun and incredibly rewarding. But it is a long road. Just remember that nothing worth having comes easily.
