When winter descends on the inhabitants of many parts of the US, it is too bitter outside to enjoy your horses. There are only so many layers one can wear in the bundling up process, and still be able to walk. What's the next best thing to being out with your horse? Talking about horses. Below is a description of how you can get started with a horse blog of your own.
A horse blog is a fantastic way to connect with other horse folks, and learn at the same time. If you think you won't know what to say, don't worry! Once you get started, it seems that talking about your horse is the easiest thing to do.
For instance, you can track lessons and what you have learned, hoof care appointments, training goals, teach others how to braid manes and tails, discuss saddle fit, types of saddles, bits, and bridles, grooming equipment, horse treats as you can see the list is endless. If you have a particular ability, or are a professional in the equine industry, discuss that area.
There are blogs that cover equine magazine production, fiction horse book authors track their progress and share their lives, massage therapists, pet sitters, hoof care; you name it, someone is talking about it. Mostly though, it seems like people are talking about their horses and the journey being shared.
A favorite blog is about a woman and her daughter who train mustangs. Not only is this lady a fantastic writer, but her photography is breathtaking. Some of the images she captures of the mustangs are suitable for framing and hanging proudly on the wall.
Starting a blog is easy. There are several free services, such as Wordpress or Blogger, that are quite user-friendly. You can upload images, set a wide variety of background choices, and extensively personalize the pages for a look unique to you. The layout sections have very easy to follow instructions, to make customization even easier.
A link exchange is a great way to let people know you are there, and generate traffic to your blog. You can even generate a bit of extra income with your blog by using programs that pay you for the number of visits.
Horse blogs are a great way to pass the time in bad weather. It's a fantastic way to encourage a young person to read and write more, increasing their confidence and skill. The equine blogging community is quite diverse, and an excellent place to gain knowledge. It's easy, it's free, and a great way to meet other horse people, from all over the world.
