Poetry: Spiritual

Friend

We feel like no one loves us
We feel like no one cares
We feel so all alone
The pain's too much to bear.

To have a friend who loves us,
who always shows he cares,
to always be beside us
and every burden share.

Would be the greatest pleasure
a joy beyond compare.
A friend who'd give his life,
is a treasure, priceless, rare.

And yet, we take for granted
All our faithful Savior's done.
The price he's paid's the highest,
our fight, he fought and won.

He stands watchful, waiting.
Hopeful for a sign.
No other friendship matters more
than either yours or mine.

With just the slightest flicker,
a shadow of a need,
He rushes to our aid,
our slightest quest to heed.

And still you stand alone,
hurting and in need.
The sign you just won't give Him,
no matter how you bleed.
