Poetry: Like a hurricane

by Dennis Wolfe

Created on: November 29, 2009

a massive disaster that is made to tear into the heart of a passing stranger

alive for the very first time, legs not developed near enough to carry the weight of the shame

we are all learning to become the masters of ourselves

sometimes in spite of their rules

they say he is a good man, they trust him with their children

they try to understand, they want to believe

he always seems to be so far away, he always seems to be a familiar stranger

we have no other alternatives, when we have no other alternatives

i would hope you would welcome me back,

this outside has become far too familiar that i nearly call it home

this will be the only life we will live

this will be the greatest harvest ever known to man...

a doubter claiming to be a faithful observer of the natural progression of the way It meant things to be

does it take any amount of courage to call god a liar?

where does a liar go from there?
