All too familiar: The Pearl Harbor and World Trade Center connection

Here is a thought, how about the lack of similarities between the attack on Pearl Harbor and 9/11. The attack on Pearl Harbor and the events of 9/11 have very little in common except the obvious (planes were used, signs of something brewing ignored through the bureaucracy of red tape, rise in American patriotism, etc.) I have yet to hear one legit, specific argument showing similarities between the two again with the exception of general statements like "the Government lied to us" or even better "it was the work of Bush, FDR, Illuminati, Space Aliens, Free Masons, Colonel Sanders, etc to justify entry into an unpopular conflict." For the people who really believe some of this I ask you one question, where is your proof? Simply stated, there is no solid proof. Here are some examples of a lack of similarities though.

On December 7, 1941 it was clear who are enemy was. Not so today. Sure we can say Al-Qaida but there are dozens if not hundreds of other radical groups throughout the world today who hate us and we cannot bomb every country in which they are hiding. From 1941-1945 if we saw a German, Italian or Japanese we could shoot to kill with no consequences. Not so easy today as our enemy does not were a uniform or usually fight under the banner of one country.

Where are the internment camps for Arab Americans or Muslims? I recall that following the attack on Pearl Harbor that Americans of Japanese decent had to report to internment camps. Women and children would stay in the camps to war's end and the men would be encouraged to fight Germans to show their "loyalty."

As a result of the attack on Pearl Harbor, Japan was destroyed like no other country in history. Our goal was complete victory, which meant if civilians had to die, so be it. Not the case following 9/11. Afghanistan and Iraq have, for the most part, been kept in tact and its infrastructure stable.

Prior to December 7, 1941 America was never attacked by Japan. The same cannot be said about Al-Qaida. The 1993 World Trade Center bombing, attacks on our embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, bombing of the U.S.S. Cole were all Al-Qaida led attacks.

The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor was a military strike on a military target. Not true on 9/11. Most victims were civilians and in the case of the Pentagon it is a mix of military and civilian.

I will be the first to admit that there are some odd factors in the case of Pearl Harbor and what, if anything, FDR knew. Do I believe the attack on Pearl Harbor was allowed to happen? No but the evidence is there to at least listen to. 9/11 is a different story no matter what Michael Moore and Dylan Avery try to portray. I simply do not believe that Bush (Republican) or FDR (Democrat) are evil human beings who would allow this to happen. The one similarity I think we can all agree on is that both December 7, 1941 and September 11, 2001 were tragic days in the fabric of American history.
