Poetry: Living out of the light

by Karen Chaffee

Created on: November 29, 2009   Last Updated: December 01, 2009

dusk stands in as her friend
time of day when the shadows stretch long
as the sunny day comes to its end

she used to know how to walk tall and strong
but the day baby died that came to an end
tiny casket buried with a mournful song

living out of the sight of the light
comfort of the shadows where angels lend
a place to shed tears out of sight
