Europe is a large continent with many countries with people speaking different languages and following different customs. It is great place to visit especially for a person who loves history as it has many famous historical places. Even a person who is not really into history will find Europe a place full of fun and excitement. With many cities in Europe, one may wonder which are best ones to visit. Of course, the famous ones are the good ones to start with first.

LONDON

The site for the 2012 Olympics, London is divided into North, West, East, South and Centre. London Centre is where the city of London is. This may be confusing to people who have always been thinking that London is exactly the same as the City of London. Actually, the City of London is where London originated. London Centre also consists of West End, Bloomsbury, Westminster, Clerkenwell, Holborn, Marylebone, Mayfair, and South Bank. The Chinatown of London is located in West End.

The west of London contains Chelsea, Kensington, Notting Hill, Paddington, Acton, Chiswick, Ealing, Fulham, Hammersmith, Shepherd's Bush and Uxbridge. Archway, Camden, Crouch End, Islington and Wood Green.

The North West is made up of Hampstead, Maida Vale, St. John's Wood, Kilburn, Cricklewood and Wembley.

Bethnal Green, Bow, Brick Lane, Clerkenwell, Docklands, Hackney, Mile End, Poplar, Shoreditch, Stepney, Stratford, Walthamstow and Whitechapel are in the East section of London.

Battersea, Brixton, Clapham, Kingston, Lambeth, Putney, Richmond, Wimbledon, Streatham, Sutton, Tooting, Twickenham and Wandsworth are in the South West.

The South East area comprises Kennington, Greenwich, Bromley, Croydon, Bexley, Deptford, Dulwich, Lewisham and Penge.

The City of London is the commercial capital and Westminister is the administrative capital. The Bank of England, the Mansion house where the mayor stays, and St. Paul's Cathedral are within the original city area. The tower of London is not actually within the boundaries of the city. Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, the Westmister Abbey are located in Westminster. The famous changing of the guards at the palace can be seen everyday at 11.30 A.M. from May to July but on alternate days during other months in the year and is also subjected to weather conditions. However, the schedule is subjected to weather conditions.

While London itself has a mayor, the City of London itself has another person as its Lord Mayor.
