There should be no doubt in any ones mind that the use of cell phones while driving should be banned. One of the most important items required while driving is the use of your concentration, how can anyone concentrate on there driving skills while holding in one hand a cell phone to there ear and there other hand on the steering wheel while at the same time talking and listening to some one witter on about anything and everything.
We all lead lives that some time can be quite chaotic, we rush about like there is no tomorrow. However do you ever wonder how we managed when we did not have cell phones, I am quite young and have owned a cell phone for quite a number of years, in fact I do quite a lot of my business with one, and would be lost without one.
I used to use one when driving that is until I came across an accident that was coursed by someone using a cell phone, the person that was using this cell phone passed me on a UK motorway, I myself was using mine, I noticed that as he passed me he was engrossed in what he was talking about that he was actually swerving from side to side.
Ten miles further on the motorway came to a full stop; lines after line of cars were parked in front of me. Three hours later I passed I passed the scene of the accident there were five blue screens around the cars that were involved in the accident, that only meant one thing the occupants were dead.
As I passed one of them I recognized part of the car it was the car that had passed me, the driver was the one the cell phone.
I was not far from where I lived, five weeks later I picked up the local newspaper the headlines told of a driver that was involved in a fatal accident while talking on his cell phone; he was blamed as the course of the accident. The traffic police had traced the call, to the exact time of the accident.
He was on the phone to his wife, she heard this man kill a family of four in one car, two young women, driving back to there university, and one older man taking his wife to see her elderly mother. All those lives ruined all because this man was on a simple cell phone talking to his wife.
Nothing is more important than life, that phone call could have waited; if it had those people would be alive today.
This one accident brought home to me the importance of not using a cell phone while driving, we may have all done it at one time or another I included, but when you think about it driving is hard enough as it is, without the added distraction of cell phones.
In the UK it is now against the law to use a hand held cell phone, if found to course a fatal accident while using one you will be charged by the police and prosecuted by Crown Prosecution Service for manslaughter if found guilty you will serve no less than a life sentence. Is it worth losing your freedom for killing someone with a cell phone?
