One of my friends came round for dinner last night and she brought a bottle of Bottlegreen Elderflower Presse with her to have with the meal. I had bought the Bottlegreen Elderflower Cordial (which you have to add water to) but had never bought the presse before.
The Presse comes in a glass bottle. Normally I think this is a green bottle but my friend had brought me a limited edition bottle which was pink, she bought it because it looked nice! There are seemingly 250,000 of these limited edition bottles but the presse inside them is just the same as the normal bottles.
The bottle holds 750ml. There were three of us and we easily finished the bottle between us so it doesn't go far.
The Presse is made by Bottle green who say that they "strive to capture the essence of the countryside in a range of exquisitely flavoured soft drinks. Using our wine-making skills, we blend a medley of carefully selected natural ingredients to produce truly delicious cordials and presss."
The Presse is delicious and a very refreshing drink. It is sparkling, not really fizzy like coca cola but just a nice light sparkling taste and is lovely alongside a meal. It would also be really nice as a refreshing drink on a hot summers day, not that there is much chance of that at the moment! The drink tastes quite sweet as there is sugar in it but there are no artificial flavours, colours, sweeteners or preservatives. The Elderflowers are deliciously fragrant and make the drink taste lovely.
The ingredients are simply carbonated water, sugar, elderflowers and citric acid. For those of you interested in nutritional values, per 100ml there is -
Energy - 29 kcal
Sugars - 7.3g
The drink should be refrigerated after opening and consumed within 3 days, however we consumed it immediately so unless you are maybe drinking this just by yourself I don't think you need to worry about using it within 3 days.
I really like this presse, it's a nice drink to have if you aren't drinking alcohol but want something a bit different to having fizzy juice. I would certainly buy this one again.
The presse sells it most supermarkets and many other smaller shops. Looking in Tesco it retails for 2.10 but is currently on offer for 1.47 which is a good buy. I might need to stock up on some for Christmas!
