STRAINED PEAS AND CARROTS
Strained peas and carrots,
Is this all they've got?
I have two new teeth, here
Let's give it a shot.
I want Daddy's favourites
Roast beef and grilled cheese
Not strained peas and carrots
No more of these, please.
They look at me closely
They're waiting to see
If today I'll follow through with
What's expected of me
I could turn up my nose
And spit it back out
But, Mom knows the tricks
She'll retrieve it, no doubt.
I could be a good boy
And pretend that it's great
It'll make them feel better
Watching me clean my plate
But tomorrow, at supper
I know what they'll serve
More strained peas and carrots
Geez! They've got their nerve.

Death Rattle
The rattle flew across the room
and hit poor startled nanny in the eye,

on the knob

He gurgles and burps
He pees and he poops
When it comes to fine dining
He hasn't a clue
He sits in his chair
Banging his spoon
My Son
I never thought I would be so pleased,
with the spit up on my sweater that smells like old cheese.
I never knew how
