What am I thankful for is a question that I ask myself a lot. For so such a simple question, the answers are many, simple, and complicated rolled all into one. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of what I am thankful for is the love of Jesus Christ. I know there are many people in the world who don't believe in Jesus Christ, but I have seen him work some miracles in my life, so I am grateful. He has been a source of constant strength for me. When I feel like I can't talk to anyone, trust anyone, rely on anyone, I know that I can talk to, trust, and rely on him.
Jesus and I have had some hard times together. I have played tug-a-war when it comes to growing stronger in my faith. He has been pulling me towards him, and for some reason, I have this wall of resistance up. I do believe that this wall of resistance is due to responsibility. If I step on faith, and give everything I am to Him, then I have to stand up, and take responsibility for when I am not living the Godliest life I can. That is a scary thought because I know I am human, I know I will mess up. However, I am starting to realize that I must give all of myself to him or I will never be able to enter the kingdom of Heaven. I am also realizing that he does not expect me to be perfect; he already knows I will fall down, and come up short, but that is okay as long as I am putting forth my best effort.
I don't want to sound preachy so I will say that yes I am so thankful for Jesus Christ, but whom ever you worship, whether it is Jesus or not, be thankful for whatever higher source, if there be one, brings peace into your life.
Today I am also thankful for my family. Good or bad, family is what helps to keep me centered. They help me remember who I am, and who I am, and who I want to be. My family and I have been through some hard times. We don't always see eye to eye, but at the end of the day, we are there for each other. In there own special way, every single person in my family has been instrumental in shaping me into the person I am today, and the person I will become in my future, and I thank them for that, and I thank God for giving me my family.
I am thankful for my friends who have become like family. I am not one to surround myself with a lot of individuals. I keep a pretty tight circle around me. The friends that I have are friends of the best kind. They are those friends I can call at two o'clock in the morning with an emergency, and they are there with no hesitation. They
