Camouflage
I watch you board the plane,
A slight spring in your step.
A gallant knight in khaki camouflage,
Anticipating adventure ahead.
As you depart for war, my love,

Bundled in my prayers.
I, too, wear camouflage,
Disguising fear and dread with a smiling face.
Swallowing my tears, I bravely wave farewell,
Knowing I must be a stalwart soldier for my soldier.
