There are many reasons why a writer might want to quickly produce lots of articles. For example, if you are writing as a source of income, or competing in a in a multi-title contest, being able to produce several articles per writing session would be to your advantage.

Free-lance writers often have multi projects in the works at the same time, and when the deadline approaches for more than one, having the skill to write quickly is a definite plus.

You will not want to simply write articles quickly; you also want to ensure your writing is high quality, a reflection of your best efforts.

Tips for developing the ability to write lots of articles quickly:

* Be organized

Have one dedicated area where you do your writing. Whether it is as fancy as an office, or as simple as a desk in the corner of a room, make sure all your writing tools are easily accessible. Have sufficient lighting for any time of the day or night that the urge to write might occur. Being organized avoids the likelihood that some of your earmarked time for writing is spent gathering your equipment and supplies.

* Establish a routine

Become a creature of habit. If you do your best writing in the morning, spend the later hours in the day or evening doing research or editing. Each evening before you go to bed, write a to-do list of all the writing projects you will work on the next day. By establishing routine writing habits, you will be able to get right to work when the time comes to do actual writing and you will know just what you are going to attempt to accomplish.

* Keep a writing ideas journal

Keep a journal to record new writing ideas. When one project is finished, you will be ready to begin another with no lapse in between spent thinking of ideas.

* Maximize research

When you do research for one writing project, take thorough legible notes and jot down the source. Establish a file for your research notes. .If the opportunity for another project on the same subject arises, you will already be ahead of the game with your previously researched notes.

* Save past projects

It is important to save copies of finished projects, for they can serve as research for future writing. You can either save a hard copy or alphabetize the articles, by subject, on your computer word processor.

* Write about what you know

One of the surest ways to put out lots of articles quickly is to write about subject from your own experience that do not require research. You can draw on your education, work experience, life events and hobbies and interests to create interesting and informative articles.

* Take breaks

When you are in the middle of a productive writing session, take brief intermittent breaks to ward off fatigue. Doing so will enable you to stay at the writing task for a longer duration in order to produce more articles.

Writing is an activity that is conducive to multi-tasking. There is preparation, research and editing to consider. By being organized and establishing a writing routine, you will be able to maximize your time and quickly write lots of articles.

With careful planning you can make all facets of being a writer come together and enable you to produce quality, and quantity, in your writing endeavors.
