How many years has it been where you have promised yourself that this New Year your resolution will be to STOP SMOKING! Come on now you can do it and really you want to do it even though you say to yourself you do not want to stop and that you enjoy smoking. I enjoyed smoking for many years. However, not only for my health but lack of money eventually made me take the bull by the horns and actually say that this New Year I would give up for good. That was 1 January 2006 and I have never had a cigarette since. The reason why that New Year I was able to crack it whereas the previous ones I could not was due to a wonderful site on the internet called quitnet.com. I live in the UK and had contacted my local doctor and NHS online help line to no avail but found this site which I believe is Boston based in the US. They were so helpful. I could chat online to other people who wanted to give up "the weed" and when I felt I needed one I just got onto the site and contacted my "buddies" who all came on the line telling me to hang on in there. It will be 4 years on 1 January 2010 since I had a cigarette to my mouth. I thank the internet, the friends I made on the quitnet site, and obviously some will power from myself to actually make my New Year Resolution work.
Obviously the same course can apply to other resolutions such as wanting to lose weight. With the vast array of sites on the internet these days there is no lack of motivation but knowing which site is best can be rather daunting and time consuming. However, I believe being able to chat to others in the same situation on the internet doubles the motivation to continue with your efforts. One of the best sites for weight loss must be weightwatchers.co.uk. You can get quite a lot of information free online before you decide to join but even the payment is very affordable whereby they provide you with a specialised diet and exercise regime to fit the person. Recipes can be downloaded and you can make contact with other people in the same situation thereby giving you all a camaraderie.
Good luck to all for your 2010 New Year Resolution which this time you are going to keep.
