A guide to Orlando timeshare rentals

by Suzanne Rose

Created on: November 25, 2009

There are many timeshare rentals in Orlando, Florida, close to the many attractions of the area. If you enjoy spending time in Orlando, it may be worth it for you to purchase one of these timeshares instead of just renting a hotel every time you visit. If you do decide to purchase a timeshare, you will have many choices as far as prices, locations and more.

Timeshares are good for people who plan on regularly visiting the Orlando area. If you take a week vacation in Orlando every year, as many people do, then a timeshare may save you time and money. There are many advantages to buying a timeshare in Orlando. First, you will know exactly what type of room/apartment you will have. Many rooms in Orlando sell out, especially at the peak traveling seasons. If you have a timeshare, you know the type of room you will have, and won't need to worry about it selling out. You can lock in a certain time of year, and won't have to worry about scouring around for a hotel at the last minute.

The timeshares of Orlando vary widely, and some are in locations that also act as regular hotels. You can get everything from a one-room studio to a large multi-room suite. You should decide how much money you want to spend. Obviously, in general the larger a room, the more expensive it is (with everything else being equal). Keep in mind that there are often other fees associated with owning a timeshare than just the cost of actually purchasing the timeshare. Many of the facilities have regular maintenance type fees that you also must pay, so you want to be aware of any additional fees.

The location of your timeshare will also dictate cost. Many people want to be close to the Disney attractions, thus the timeshares very near to those might command a premium compared to those who are a little further away. You may be able to save a lot of money by purchasing a timeshare that is an extra fifteen minutes away.

Before you buy a timeshare in Orlando, you should look at what you can do should you need to skip a year. Many timeshares might offer services where they can try to sell your room for that year. Also, many timeshare properties are flexible and may let you trade your time for a vacation in another spot.

Timeshares are a wonderful way to visit the Orlando area. Many timeshare properties offer discounted rates for those who come to inquire and learn about timeshare opportunities. You will want to compare and learn about competing properties so that you make the decision that is right for you.
